The newly renovated hotel has welcomed guests since 1969 and offers 140 comfortable and luxurious single and double rooms as well as suites. The name Golden Sands comes from an old legend. Pirates were said to have buried a golden treasure on the coast north of Varna. The land took revenge on the bandits and transformed the gold into sand.
Today, Golden Sands is famous for its nice golden sand and long beaches. Bulgaria's Black Sea coast enjoys a mild climate all year round. The Black Sea beaches are covered with extremely clean sands. Because of its natural beauty, the Bulgarian Black Sea coast has become a famous international resort area.
The Golden Sands resort is 15 km north of the city of Varna and near the Golden Sands National Park. It is a magnificent resort, the largest one on the northern Black Sea coast, with densely forested hills, white and golden beaches and a clear blue sea. There are many very famous and ancient mineral springs, which have a flow of 150 metres per second and were already known to the Thracians and the Romans.
The resort’s beach strip is 3.5 km long and up to 100 metres wide. The average air temperature in summer is 27-30 degrees, and the water temperature is 25-28 degrees.
