Royal Deeside is particularly famous for its hunting and fishing. Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the Royal Family, which is open to the public during summer, is only 15 miles away. Dinnet itself is in a nature reserve at the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park.

- The hotel is 5 miles after Aboyne, and 5 miles before Balater.
